Resonance VII

last night went with yh to Resonance VII...the VJC harmonica concert...this year i didn't perform as an alumni member...instead i went as an audience...the reason was simply there wasn't any motivation that propels me to perform this year...the passion and enthusiasm wasn't there....if i were to join it would only be out of obligation...which i dun wan...so i told the chairperson that yes...i'll just go and support...

my good friend hs is performing...she's really good...hehe...in terms of the enthusiasm and passion of course...the skills? *i shall not comment* hehe...anyway i'll say she's good coz in previous years we have been joining such performances together and yet this year i 'tua' her and she actually go for this alone...alone in the sense that she's not realy very close with the rest of them...=p

the moment i sat at the audience seats, the feeling and enthusiasm to perform suddenly overwhelmed me...haha...isn't it weird? anyway its was too late...so i guess gotta wait for next year - Resonance VIII if i'm still surviving from all the late nights doing audits....

the whole performance was pretty good...the harmonica band was even better...and great in numbers as compared to when i was still in VJ...when the band was make up of so few ppl...so watching the current batch perform, i feel really proud of them...and also of them for getting gold in SYF...which the past batches didn't get a chance to take part in...

our instructor (who has been replaced) didn't agree to us in taking part in SYF...he always feel that the judges aren't fit to judge us coz they themselves dun play this instrument...they prob dun even understand much about the instrument...and as a result of his stubbornness, we were deprived of a chance to join the SYF....this was the regret of a lot of my fellow harmonica alumni friends....

watching the concert reminded me of Resonance IV in 2000 when i was still in year 1 and where the concert was still held in the small LT and also Perfect V in 2001 when the concert was combined with guitar and it was the first time we were performing in the auditorium....those were the days...seeing how the band grow thru the years is a satisfaction..seeing the current batch perform reminds me of the sunshine 3-4 years ago...haha....joining the harmonica band was nv a regret...instead it was absolutely fun and amazing...fun coz of all the friends i've known...my batch as well as other batches...amazing coz of the instument...

some of you may not even know the harmonica well...yep...its a wind instrument... the lesson learnt from this instrument is that nv judge an instrument from its size... it may be small with only 12 holes and 1 button, but it can play up to 3 octaves including all the sharps and flats...not to mention the techniques that u can play ard using the instrument...(which i didn't master...haha)and the best thing was it sounds like violin!

i really luv the harmonica... i guess last nite's concert has reminded me of how much this instrument meant to me...

in the meantime...looking forward to Resonance VIII!
