My sis - fang
suddenly feeling motivated to write something about my sister....perhaps it's because of the recent incident about her that sort of propels me to write about our relationship....
i dunno how other siblings behave towards each other...but i guess whatever we're experiencing shld be more or less similar to others..For us, there're always times when we scream and fight with each other, when we bang on doors and wardrobes, throw each others' stuff on the floor just because we can't do it to each other...but there're also times where we chat with each other, share secrets such as crushes and gossips which parents aren't suppose to know....times when we tried so hard to whined and persuade the other party to lend out their favourite stuff...
as we grow up, me now 22 and she 20....i tend to treasure and miss the times when we were young...we were so much closer to each other...looking at the childhood photos reminds me of the times when we played cooking together, times when we watched our favourite cartoons together...times when she'll request a kiss from me on her forehead every night before we sleep...times when we'll sit in front of the aircon together and try to get the nice aircon smell into out baby pillows...times when she always 'force' me to play monopoly with her.... times when i always tease her about the wrong pronounciation of words such as pronouncing 'crime' as' cream'...times when she'll keep talking and laughing at my superman incident...
sorta feel that we're not as close as before...we have our own circle of friends....own life, own school etc...we hardly go out together anymore and we seldom do things together anymore...we don't chat as much as before and don't share much secrets anymore...perhaps this is all part of growing up...i even start to wonder if our relationship can be more properly defined as 'good friends' rather than siblings...
as memories of the past are passing through my head now. i can't help but feel that i wish i could turn back time...i haven't been a good sister when we were young...i rejected her numerous requests to play monopoly, wasn't very keen on helping her with her school work when she had problems and sometimes even refuse to help her by giving the excuse that i'm busy with my own work...*guilty*
recently i realised how much i still love and care for this sis of mine....even though we see each other less often now...even though we each have our own life now, the sibling bond is still there...it is different from the kind of bond u share with friends....
she msg me today to wish me good luck for my quiz! she don't usually do that...the joy and surprise of getting this msg from her is somehow different from that received from a good friend....its hard to put it in words...but it's different...
when i heard of the incident that happen to her (shall not go into the details here...but she was sort of 'bullied' by ppl in her class due to a mean ger who tok behind her back.) in her msg, i could sense her loneliness and helplessness and the feeling of being ostracized..immediately there was this overwhelming sense of feeling to protect her...to hold her and to tell her that everything is ok...to scream at the mean ger who's hurting her...there was also this pain inside me that makes me wanna cry for/with her...i guess that's wat happen when u're the older sis? for a good friend, i can't really imagine myself having this kind of feelings...yes...i will be pissed and will consol my friend...but not that stong...and the protective feeling is just not there....
anyway fang...if u're reading this...i wanna tell u that even though u're veri naughty at times, i still luv ya, my dearest sis!
