Issit the timing? content? or just me?
writing my blog now coz i totally got no mood to study....quiz on tues and i'm barely started....sigh...hopefully the quiz will be an easy one...*pray hard*
peronal experience...but i think many of my friends would have encounter these before:
1)waking up in the morning with a strong motivation to study the whole day...but after brushing ur teeth, u just decided to watch a bit of tv shows to relax a bit first....in the end, u end up sitting there the whole day or half a day watching one show after another.......
2)same thing, wake up in the morning with the motivation....and this time rd..u're more discipline in the sense that u sat in front of the table and open ur textbk and start on the first paragraph....then u feel a bit bored and decided to on the computer for some music...and that's just the end of it...msn, computer games etc will soon take over all ur attention and half a day passed and u're still on the first page......
3) u have got no motivation to study at all! but no choice...quiz just a couple of days away and u gotta push urself to study, so u open ur textbook on the table and TRIED to read the first para....but then u feel bored and end up walking ard the hse, watch a bit of tv, tok on the msn for a while...and by 9pm at night, u still haven finish the first para....
is it really that hard to concentrate on reading the stuff?? or issit just the timing thing? or perhaps its the content of the readings that play a part? i'm not saying there isn't any time when u can really concentrate...but just that its so rare! okie...i'm going to end this entry already...nope..not time for studying... hehe...its time to watch TV show - Shallow Hal!

Actually, I think it's because we have been studying for almost 17 years.. especially since sec sch.. when we start to study almost every minute of the day.. even during hols... of course we would get sick with studying..
my theory is.. when you go another level.. eg from JC to Uni.. in the first year.. you have high motivation to do very well.. and you tend work very hard.. have high attn span and the works...
BUT, after seeing low correlation .. i.e. the OB theory abt the ratio of output-to-input ... you lose steam.. and you feel that you have to compensate yourself a little here and there for reading one whole long sentence (so as to equalise the ratio.. you know.. since you can't get the output in terms of results.. you want to get output interms of entertainment)..
1 sentence = 30 mins of entertainment
If 1 para = 8 sentences, you need entertainment hrs of up to 4 hrs. Of course you take a "short" time of 3 mins to read and understand the complex sentences authors like to use to make themselves sound cheem .. so.. a whole paragraph takes 2.5hrs..
if you have 3 paragraphs per page..
.. you need 7.5 hrs.. that is your whole day... plus of course your meals with tv (1 hr).. bathing .. toliet breaks... etc etc..

By the way.. i can explain why I have no mood to study for the quiz tml...
cos I am just waiting for graduation... dun care abt grades liao.. cos i got a job!!
Yeah,can totally understand tt...Tt's y i haf been tokin to u so much on msn..Nothing to do mah..haha! Movies are so great a distraction..a several other things..time to get back to the quiz studying..New show on Channel 8 and Desperate Housewives later.Muahahaha
