Unlucky Me......
I'm a little down on my luck recently.....my glasses broke on thurs night....not the lens...but the frame...take note: its not the screw that came loose..but the frame just snapped and the lens came off...i didn't even realise that it had became so weared out...haha...
Given that i'm so dependent on my glasses, u can imagine how lost i am without it...my so called "back-up" pair isn't very usable anymore...*duh...if it is, i wouldn't need to get a new one to replace it* and so now for this period at home i dun wear it unless it is necessary (read: when watching tv)
went to make a new pair on sat...a blue frame this time round...hope it doesn't look too "doot" (did i spell it correctly?? haha) !
anyway....back to the unlucky thing...as if my broken spec isn't bad enuff, i got into trouble with my contacts lenses....
i wore contacts every now and then....daily disposable kind....and so after my glasses broke, i wore it on fri, sat and monday to work....but suay suay on monday night, i had problems taking the contacts out of my left eye....and by the time i struggled to get it out, it came out and to my HORROR, there was only 2/3 of it! i was pissed and worried at the same time....pissed coz my eye was irritated by the 1/3 that got stuck under my upper eye lid and also by the lousy contacts len that had teared, and worried coz after 20 mins of tugging and pulling my eye lid in all directions, all i got was a RED EYE....
the "best" thing was my family clinic had closed by the end of the 20 mins tug of war and i was getting more and more anxious with the contact len that seem so unwilling to come out....and so guess what? my mum decided that i shld go to the hospital A&E....
isn't A&E suppose to be for emergency situations? so why do i have to wait even longer than the normal clinic waiting time?? after i got there, i have to first go thru the screening process where they asked a series of questions:
1) any drug allergies
2) any medical history
3) any operations before etc.
guess what? all those questions are pretty irrelevant to my case....after that was an hour of waiting where again the nurse asked me the same questions over again....and again i told her my condition....after about half an hour, i finally got to see a doc who AGAIN, for the 3rd time asked me the same questions! and when he realised my condition, he said he'll arrange for me to see an eye doctor.....
hello?? i've told the person right from the start about my condition...shldn't they arrange for me to see an eye doc straight instead of going thru so many ppl?? wasn't my condition indicated clearly in the file? sheez...no wonder the A&E is always so crowded....well, perhaps there're some reasons for these kind of cumbersome procedures....but i seriously think a review of these procedures are necessary....they seem a bit inefficient to me....
and finally i gotta see the eye doc! who easily flip over my eye lid and with a few drops of miracle eye drops, he managed to get the eye-irritating-culprit out! *applause* i left the room happily....until i saw the bill....its was a freaking 70 bucks! sobsob....burned a hole in my pocket....
perhaps the only consoling thing is that during the 2 hours wait in the hospital, i saw so many good looking young doctors around! haha...yeah...dun be surprised that with my eye in the uncomfortable state and without my glasses, i can still spot them....
the only thing i'm complaining about this is that i gotta constantly put on and remove my ugly and non-usable pair of glasses just to catch a clearer glimpse of them.....ooppss.....

Yikes, plus 1 more reason why I shld not get/wear contacts.
Handsome doctors? hehe... perhaps have to get in line wor......after the nurses and female doctors... ;P
u just persuaded me not to get contacts.
*OMG* my dear girl, you are so brave! was it very painful when the doc removed the 1/3 of the lens from your eye??? you don't sound intimidated at all..wa *pat on the back* :)
haha..you so funny leh. so shuai4 doctors also got positive externalities sia~ =p
to ▐≤¡Γ≡: i can't seem to read the chinese characters....who r u? =p the only thing i know is that u're a guy...haha
to king meng: well...i guess i'm just unlucky...u've been wearing it for so many years and this has nv happen before...dun be intimidated by this...hee...u shld try...u'll feel pretty relieve without ur glasses...
to jshan:it wasn't painful at all! surprisingly...i didn't even feel anything...was really amazed by the machine he used to examine my eyes...can actually spot the len...hee...
what brand of daily disposable you using? why so thin ad flimsy? a bit scary. usually when my contacts get stuck, i will pull my lid with the hope that they will come down (and its a almost fool-proof method) ...
Anyway, young docs are eye candies, but when it comes to skills, better get a decently experienced doc? hahaha... those houseman a bit CMI. thats what i thought.
gosh...
didnt know such a big thing happened! ya it sounded so scary! 1/3 of the lens? didnt know contact lens will tear! sheez!
