Compliments and Comments

Part 1:
its such a wonder how u can have different reaction to the same compliment from different people....

From ur family: perhaps these are people so close to you that u hardly feel pai seh towards them...u'll probably answer with a 'i-knew-it-all-along' kind of attitude and the compliment doesn't seem to add much to ur confidence or ego...

From ur friends: u'll probably be over the moon and started asking ur friends in a 'are-u-sure' manner....even though u heard it during the first time, but u just refuse to believe in wat u heard and just want ur friend to comment again and explain the reason for her compliment...then only will u be satisfied and convinced by wat she says and smile secretly to yourself...u'll probably try to say something like "no lah...i'm actually not...." not that u dun believe in the positive compliment made... u do believe! but u just wanna hear it again and affirm them.

From ur crush: this is perhaps wat most people will be hoping to hear....u'll probably turn red with the compliment or try to brush it off with some other topics because u're so embarrassed with his words jumping around in you... then u'll start thinking why he said that and be elated over the fact that he actually noticed you and not totally because of this comments...and u'll probably be smiling to yourself for the whole day...even in ur sleep...

Part 2:
yesterday at elders there i realised smth...
that the elders are the most direct and true people i've ever seen...they don't say nice stuff just to pacify you...nor do they keep the negative comments to themselves and then talk behing ur back....they just say whatever that comes to their mind...

an uncle told my friend right in her face "u're not pretty...u pretty meh?" then then turn around to another person and say "she's pretty"...i didn't know how to react to the awkward situation but to say "its doesn't matter if u're pretty anot....the most important thing is u have a good heart..."

mins later, the same uncle walked from behind another friend of mine and said 'this lady has got a pretty backview' and when she turn ard, guess wat he said? "some people just have a nice backview and not not so pretty front view...in this world, nobody is perfect" it came as another shock to those who were standing ard....

the comments may make my friends uncomfortable...but they know that he meant no harm....he's not trying to be mean....he's just not sensitive enuff to our feelings....but this is not necessary a bad thing....at least they're not like those inside the movie 'Mean Girls' who dun mean wat they say.....HYPOCRITES!

Hi girl, compliments to one may not be compliments to another, for one man's meat is another man's poison. it really depends on what angle you look at it from. But you know, compliments are not THAT important, the most important is BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! right?
