My Favourite Month of the Year
Yes! Its February again! My favourite month of the year.... My bf celebrated my birthday for me earlier during Sunday...went to watch Benjamin Buttons followed by an unexpectedly nice dinner...
The movie, in my opinion, was good...though long (2 hours and 40 mins?) and certain parts a little slow, it was still good...love the storyline especially...go catch it if you haven't! definitely worth the $$.
We had wanted to go try out Ma Maison...a pity it was fully booked! :( so in the end, he brought me to this nice little cosy corner in Plaza Singapura. From the outside, it is a shopfront selling antiques and collectibles...furnitures, deco, accessories etc. But on a closer look, there is this cafe inside the shop named TeaCosy @ Eclectic Attic...
On entering the shop, we were pretty amazed by the cafe. The cafe is rather small, probably just enough for 20-25 people...and all the tables and chairs/couches/cushion seats are all antique vintage style! you can even purchase those tables and chairs where you are seated. We selected the cosy corner window seat..
The European food are served using vintage royal copenhagen plates which gives the dining experience a unique touch. Look at the pretty teacups, the tea bags are even attached with pretty little flowers!
The table has deco ornamants for sale as well...look at the one on our table...A very pretty table stand with cosy pink lighting...but a little too pricey for me to bring home (about S$800)
While waiting for the food, hungry me couldn't resist the temptation to pinch on the brownies! Guess what? the brownie is not from the cafe itself...heh...its the bday gift handmade by my bf! I must say that it tastes really good! Moist and just the right texture, top off with the chocolate cream...yummy! and it goes just well with my earl grey....hmmm
For the mains, both of us ordered the same - Grilled chicken with prawn..i cannot remember the exact name but i think it was Surf and Turf... the sauce was some BBQ sauce and goes well with the chicken..the chicken was tender and the prawn was grilled well..not too dry.... and it also came with a generous serving of vegetables = balanced diet!
and just when the mains came and i was so tempted to start on it, bf's phone rang and it was a tuition lobang...and the reason while he was laughing so happily was because they were at the topic of tuition fees...$_$
and after some shots, we can finally start on the yummy food! =p
After dinner, we laze around in the cafe, drinking tea till closing time...a simple and yet cosy dinner =) I'll recommend this place to all my friends...for the food and the ambience...
